Boracay

One of the best months to go to Boracay is on the 3rd Sunday of January.  Why?  It is because it coincides with the Ati-Atihan Festival Celebration in Kalibo, Aklan.  A few hours from the beach will lead you to the colorful and merry festival of the Sto. Nino.

Lucky me,  I was with backpacker companions who do not have any qualms about getting tired, trying out new dishes, etc.

The first tip in setting a trip is to book long before the intended date.  Also, take advantage of airline promos.  For us, it was the Zest Air promo (www.zestair.com.ph).   Although it was not exactly the cheapest, paying PhP2,000 each for a roundtrip fare was not bad at all.

We also did research on the cheapest yet cleanest hotels in Boracay.  We found out that Tan's Guesthouse (www.tghboracay.com) only charges PhP1,500 per room, per night, which is already good for 4 pax!  It already sounded cheap, but we were informed that this is their peak rate!
